Lancaster MK1 W4191 EM-Q 207 Squadron

I am researching the crash of Lancaster W4191 EM-Q.

On the 21st of December 1942 the Lancaster of 207 Squadron was on the way back from a raid on Munich and was shot down by a German nightfighter and crashed in our village Elst UT killing all seven crew.

We feel obliged to remember and honour these brave young men who fought and died for our freedom.

It is therefore that we are trying to find relatives of the crew.

In September 2016 we( my wife and I) made a trip to England for this research. Also to meet relatives of the crew of this Lancaster and to visit friends.

On the 3rd of October 2016 we even were on BBC Northwest Tonight, a news item on our visit to the Southern Cemetery in Chorlton.

Till now I have found relatives of five of the crew and maybe this website will help finding relatives of the other two, Gordon Joseph Bentley  from Chorlton cum Hardy and Douglas Robert Bannerman from Timaru, New Zealand.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I will update this website regularly so please come back again.
